Horse lessons
Our horse lessons offer our clients a safe, fun, hands on educational experience. Our facility is open year round with a few options of activities.
KNOW THE BASICS OF HORSEBACK RIDING. Knowing the difference between western and english riding, learn and identify different types of horse riding equipment as well as different types riding attire and gain general horse knowledge.
TAKE CARE OF A HORSE AND LEARN ABOUT SAFETY. Learn hands on grooming and feeding. Learn about safety precautions around a horse.
PREPARE FOR YOUR RIDE. Learn and demonstrate how to safely lead, tie, tack up, and mount and dismount your horse.
PRACTICE YOUR RIDE. Learn and demonstrate how to in good form safely and effectively using horsemanship aids to steer at a walk and a trot on straight lines, circles and bends as well as stopping and backing.
GO ON A RIDE. Ride to demonstrate skills and achieve a goal-open to individual interests, abilities, and schedules. Options can be a trail ride, mounted games, and riding a pattern. The more involved the goal, the more sessions will be needed to achieve it.
Horse lessons are $30.00 to 45.00 per hour depending on the age and goals of your child.
There is a family contribution of $50.00 per semester per child, payable in $5 increments per lesson.
Parents are invited to observe the first lesson.
For safety reasons and arena size restraints, parents and siblings, must refrain from coming into the arena during class sessions. Your child/children will be brought out after their lesson to your vehicle.
